I discuss big idea concepts in my lessons that address both artistic practices and exploring themes that are relevant to contemporary issues. I have explored project themes that are student centered, standards based, and support social-emotional instruction fostered by relationships and real world connections.

I align my curriculum with New York State Visual Arts Standards and Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Education guidelines. My teaching supports diverse learners through inclusive materials and individualized instruction accommodations.

Through this model, I am able to maintain a positive relationship with my students, their families and my colleagues. I have practiced this model in my previous classroom experiences with excellent results.
